Beschrijving: Cities can be chaotic and confusing places at the best of times - even for local people!Spatial Metro, a project largely funded by the EU, aims to make city visits more enjoyable for pedestrians by making cities easier to navigate, easier to walk around and easier to understand and appreciate.This can be achieved in various says, including illuminatingcharacteristic buildings, providing 'metro style' maps as wellas appropriate information and signposting for pedestriansand the application of GPS technology.Together with municipalities and universities, five cities(Norwich, Bristol, Rouen, Kobtenz and Biel/Bienne) in NorthWest Europe have carried out pilot studies and exchangedexperiences. In this publication, their findings are sharedwith the reader.
